Development of the 10G EPON product line began in the summer of 2007. The early products did not contain a WDM filter and therefore required the use of an external WDM to establish a link over a single fiber; and, the first models did not incorporate digital diagnostic monitoring.The products listed here are intended to serve in IEE 802.3av PR3 or PRX3 applications and some models contain internal diagnostics and CDR. Models with internal WDM filters are now available.The triplexer and quadplexer products are intended to be deployed in existing E-PON (GE-PON) networks by applying CWDM wavelengths to add the 10G capacity.The triplexer and quadplexer products are fabricated in a special “wide” XFP housing that is required to incorporate the additional optics, electronics and WDM filters.
